Another exciting school year is here. I am Melanie Lane Richards and I am delighted to be your child’s intervention teacher.  I am so glad your child will be part of my class family.  Your child is about to embark on an exciting learning adventure- and you can come along!  I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a few things about myself both personally and professionally.

I grew up in Troy, AL.  I loved the rural life. I love meeting new people, going to church,  shopping, and spending time with family and friends. I am married to Antonio Richards.  We have a fourteen year old daughter (Madison Joy Richards), and a nine  year old son (Angland Major Richards). Our Family attends First Missionary Baptist Church in Prattville.

I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in May 2004 from Alabama State University. I received my Masters in elementary education in Dec. 2009.  I began my journey in teaching in 2004 in the Pike County School System. I have experience in 6th grade, 4th grade, 1st grade , 3rd grade, and 2nd grade.  I am looking forward to a very exciting and productive year working with your child.  You are the most important person in your child’s life and I know if we work together, your child will have a very successful year.

I consider it a great privilege and responsiblity to be your child's teacher this year. Please feel free to contact me by sending me an email at Melanie.Richards@acboe.net if you have any questions or comments.
